The focus of my series of films is on beauty and nature. The films are inspired by fashion films done by brands like Dior and Chanel. However, the twist is that instead of using a slim model with features that adhere to the typical western standard of beauty, the talent has the face and body of someone you could see commonly all around you, but portrayed in a way that celebrates the beauty that is already inside her and shining through.

The message of this film series is that anyone can and should feel beautiful, regardless of their outward appearance, because they are.

The film series encompasses 4 films inspired by the 4 elements: earth, fire, air, and water. The first film is based on the element, water. The character of the shoot is based on Amphitrite, the sea Goddess in greek mythology.
BIRTHING THE IDEA:
I intended to do a personal project to hone my videography, directing, and editing skills. However, I didn't know where to start so I brainstormed some ideas to get my creative juices flowing.
I enjoy the character of fashion films, and the variety that comes with them. I especially love when the shots are well supported by good music. As such, I decided that this video project will be music video themed, and fashion film inspired.

As one of my favourite past times are reading up on Greek mythology, I decided to base my character on a character from Greek mythology that embodies beauty and power, such as a Goddess. I wanted to challenge myself to make a series of 4 films, inspired by different characters and conceptualised and stylised completely differently from each other. Choosing to model the characters after Greek mythology gave me creative "leads" in a sense, while giving me enough wiggle room and creative freedom to interpret the stories however I please.
